Affair Recovery &
Infidelity Counseling
Space to process betrayal.
Guidance to rebuild trust.
When an affair changes everything, it can be hard to know what to say, what to ask, or what comes next. Together, we’ll slow down the conversations, make room for the pain, and explore a path toward clarity and healing.

The discovery of infidelity can bring shock, anger, grief, and uncertainty. Conversations may turn into arguments, repeated questions, or silence. Counseling offers structure and support as you begin to understand what has happened.
Processing the crisis
Make room for difficult emotions, recurring thoughts, and triggers while developing practical ways to manage the immediate distress.
Rebuilding transparency
Work toward honest answers, clear boundaries, and consistent actions that support accountability and begin to rebuild trust.
Understanding the relationship
Explore patterns and disconnection without excusing the affair or making the betrayed partner responsible for the choice to be unfaithful.
Healing takes time.
We’ll work through it step by step.
You don’t have to figure out the future of your marriage today. Using a Gottman-informed approach, we’ll bring structure to difficult conversations and work at a pace that allows for thoughtful repair.

Make space for the impact of the affair, meaningful questions, honest answers, and responsibility for the harm caused.
Practice trust and connection
Build consistent habits of transparency, follow-through, and communication. Explore emotional and physical closeness as both partners feel ready.
Choose your next chapter
Clarify what moving forward would require and develop practical ways to support the relationship you are choosing to build.
What to expect
Before we meet
We’ll discuss your situation, your hopes, and whether couples counseling is an appropriate next step for both partners.
During your sessions
I’ll help guide difficult conversations, make room for each partner to be heard, and introduce practical tools for communication and repair.
As you move forward
We’ll review your progress and identify what needs continued attention. The work includes practicing new habits and following through outside the therapy room.
Trust develops through consistent actions over time. Counseling does not require immediate forgiveness or guarantee a particular relationship outcome.
Common questions
Can a marriage survive an affair?
Recovery is possible, but there is no guaranteed outcome. Repair takes honesty, accountability, consistent changes, and a willingness to engage in the process. We’ll explore what that would mean for your relationship.
What if one of us isn’t sure about staying?
If one partner wants to repair the marriage while the other is uncertain or considering leaving, discernment counseling may be a more appropriate starting point. Learn about discernment counseling.
Should we begin with regular sessions or an intensive?
Regular couples sessions are 90 minutes, allowing time for meaningful conversation and practice. A four-hour Marriage Intensive offers more extended time together when appropriate. We’ll discuss which format fits your situation before booking. Explore Marriage Intensives.
Can we include our Christian faith?
Yes. When requested, Christian faith can be thoughtfully integrated into our work together. We can explore your values, hope, and questions about forgiveness while respecting the time, boundaries, and accountability that healing requires.
Where do sessions take place?
In-person sessions are available in Troy, Michigan, with virtual counseling available throughout Michigan.
You don’t have to navigate this alone.
Whether you’re ready to begin rebuilding or still trying to understand what comes next, we can start with a conversation.
