Faith & Marriage

Room for your relationship.
Room for what you believe.

I’m a Christian therapist who welcomes couples with a range of religious and spiritual beliefs. If faith matters to your marriage, we can make room for it—with respect for each partner’s beliefs, questions, and choices.

Your values · Your relationship · Thoughtful support

Different beliefs.
Room for both of you.

Faith can be a source of connection, comfort, or tension. Whether you share a faith, approach it differently, or are still figuring out what you believe, there is room for an honest conversation.

Shared faith

You want your Christian beliefs to have a meaningful place in the work you do together.

Different beliefs

You want to understand each other’s perspectives and navigate religious differences with care.

Questions & change

You’re working through doubts, changing beliefs, or painful experiences connected to religion.

Your faith can be part of the conversation.
You decide how.

We’ll talk about what faith means to each of you and how you want it included. My role is to help you understand each other and make thoughtful choices for your relationship.

Make room for both stories

Explore the beliefs, experiences, and values that shape how each of you approaches marriage.

Understand what matters

Talk about the expectations and meanings behind disagreements about faith, family, or daily life.

Practice respectful conversation

Learn to express your needs, listen to each other, and respond with care when your perspectives differ.

Build shared agreements

Work toward practical agreements about boundaries, traditions, parenting, and how you support each other.

What to expect

Your preferences

We’ll discuss whether you want faith included and what that means to each partner. Explicit Christian practices are included only with both partners’ agreement.

Practical relationship work

Sessions focus on communication, understanding patterns, repairing hurt, and strengthening connection. Your values can inform that work.

Respect for differences

You can speak honestly about your beliefs, uncertainty, or concerns. Each partner’s perspective deserves thoughtful attention.

You do not need to share my Christian faith to work with me.

Faith-informed care, when you want it

Meet Kelley

Hi, I’m Kelley. I’m a Christian therapist, and I care about creating a space where both partners can speak honestly and feel respected.

I bring a warm, structured approach to relationship work, using Gottman-informed tools and guided communication practice. When you want Christian principles included, we can explore how your faith connects with compassion, accountability, and the way you care for each other.

A few questions before you begin

Do we need to be Christian to work with you?

No. I welcome couples with different religious and spiritual beliefs, as well as couples who do not identify with a faith. You do not need to share my beliefs.

What if only one of us wants faith included?

We’ll discuss what feels appropriate to both of you. We can explore the meaning faith holds for one partner while respecting the other’s beliefs. Prayer, Scripture, or other explicit Christian practices require both partners’ agreement.

Will you include prayer or Scripture?

Only when both partners want that. We’ll discuss your preferences first. Christian practices are optional, and you can revisit your preferences as we work together.

Can we talk about religious differences?

Yes. We can explore how different beliefs affect your relationship, including traditions, worship, parenting, family expectations, and boundaries. The focus is understanding each other and finding workable agreements.

What if religion has been painful for me?

You can bring that experience into the conversation without having to defend it or resolve it quickly. We’ll discuss what feels supportive and whether additional individual support would be helpful.

Does forgiveness mean overlooking hurt or staying together?

We’ll make room to discuss what forgiveness means to you. Accountability, boundaries, and safety matter. Forgiveness does not automatically restore trust, and faith will not be used to pressure either partner to remain in a relationship.

Where can we find session fees?

Visit the Guided Marriage investment page for current fees. We’ll discuss which type of session best fits your goals during your consultation.
