Your six-session roadmap
The conversations worth having now.
Each session gives you a starting point. Your relationship, questions, and priorities shape where we go from there.
Communication & friendship
Say what you need, hear what your partner means, and keep getting to know each other beyond the wedding plans.
Values & your future
Talk about children, faith, careers, and the hopes you each bring into marriage—especially where they differ.
Conflict & finding your way back
Practice starting difficult conversations gently, recognizing overwhelm, and repairing after a disagreement.
Intimacy & connection
Make room for honest conversations about affection, closeness, and expectations without assuming you want the same things.
Family & boundaries
Explore holidays, family traditions, outside opinions, and how you’ll make decisions as a couple.
Money & sharing the load
Discuss spending, saving, time, and everyday responsibilities before unspoken expectations become resentment.
Meet Kelley
A little guidance.
A lot of honest conversation.
I’m Kelley Yell, a Gottman-trained couples therapist. I’ll help you put words to what matters, notice where you get tangled up, and practice ways to understand each other.
We’ll use Gottman-informed tools and real examples from your relationship. You’ll leave with conversations to continue and skills to practice together.
Get to know KelleyA few things you might be wondering.
Do we need to be having problems?
No. You can be happy together and still want help discussing expectations, learning communication skills, or preparing for change. Bring your questions, even if nothing feels urgent.
Do we have to attend every week?
The program includes six sessions. We’ll discuss timing and availability before you book so you understand how the sessions can fit around your plans.
Can this complement our church marriage preparation?
Yes. We can focus on practical relationship skills alongside your church’s preparation. If you need a specific requirement or certificate fulfilled, check with your church and discuss it with me before enrolling.
You’re choosing each other.
Give that choice some time.
Tell me a little about the two of you, and we’ll talk about getting started.
